State-ranked The Woodlands swept Willis 25-7, 25-17, 25-18 Saturday morning to remain unbeaten and atop the District 13-6A standings.

The Lady Highlanders (13-3, 4-0) had a balanced match on offense as Claire Arend a team-high eight of 41 team kills. Natasha Zorbas added seven kills

Clara Brower had a solid all-around match with 28 assists, eight digs, six kills, three blocks and four aces. Jackie Lee led in digs with 20.

The Woodlands entered the week ranked No. 24 in Class 6A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association and earned three district wins, including Grand Oaks and Conroe.

The Woodlands travels to rival College Park Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Willis (1-10, 0-4) plays at Conroe at the same time that night.

College Park sweeps Willis

College Park earned a 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 victory over Willis in District 13-6A play Saturday.

Mallory Madison led the Lady Cavaliers (5-9, 2-2) with 10 kills and 12 digs. Abby Kremer finished with nine kills, and Cassidy Copeland and Paige Palmer each had six. Koralyn Owens finished with 22 assists and six digs, and Paige Bernstein added 15 assists. Alexis McDaniel had 15 digs, and Palmer had 12.

College Park returns to action at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against The Woodlands.

Another sweep for the Lady Bears

For the second consecutive day, the first-place Montgomery Lady Bears earned a District 20-5A sweep. This time it was against the Dayton Broncos with scores of 25-16, 25-12, 25-11.

Montgomery (11-4, 8-0) got eight kills from Emma Ely while Abby Meador and Grace Ellis each had six.

Raina McWhirter had 24 assists and Kendall Sadler had six aces.

Montgomery returns to action Tuesday at New Caney.

Oak Ridge picks up non-district win

Oak Ridge topped Cypress Creek 25-16, 25-17, 25-13 on Saturday in non-district play.

The War Eagles (13-2) got 11 kills apiece from Tori Perduk and Madison Hall in the win. Kylee Curt added 10 kills and a pair of aces. Julia Neveu led the defensive effort with 20 digs while Alex Singleton had 16 digs. Avery Fowler and Piper Boydstun had 23 assists apiece.

Oak Ridge is at Grand Oaks on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in District 13-6A action.

Lake Creek splits matches

Lake Creek split a pair of District 20-5A matches Saturday, beating Dayton and losing to Kingwood Park.

The Lions (9-5, 6-2) defeated Cleveland 25-11, 25-10, 25-8. Madison Blane led the team with 12 kills, and Payton Woods added seven. Lauren Greene finished with 16 assists, and Reagan Wells had nine. Green also had seven digs, and Riley Mason finished with six.

Kingwood Park defeated Lake Creek 28-26, 22-25, 25-17, 18-25, 15-13. Woods finished with 19 kills and nine digs for Lake Creek, and Blane finished with six kills. Green finished with 20 assists and six digs, and Wells added 13 assists. Mason finished with 20 digs.

Lake Creek returns to action at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dayton.
