Toyota Texas Bass Classic & Outdoor Music Festival Returns to Conroe October 28 — 30

Concerts & Weigh-Ins Take Place at Lone Star Convention & Expo Center

Conroe, Texas — The Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) will return to the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center in Conroe October 28 — 30, 2011. The event, a three-day world-class fishing tournament, also features an outdoor music festival. Event proceeds benefit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and its outdoor recreation programs.

“We are proud to bring the TTBC back to Conroe and continue to raise awareness for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department,” said TTBC Founder Dan Friedkin. “This event has become the premier bass fishing tournament for anglers across the world while having a positive impact on this community and the state of Texas.”

The TTBC will continue to host family-friendly live music performances by noteworthy artists. Previous events have featured performances by Blake Shelton, Montgomery Gentry and Pat Green. The 2011 concert line-up will be announced by the summer. Activities at the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center appeal to a wide range of spectator interests and include a kids’ area with outdoor activities, giant video screens and outdoor industry exhibitions featuring instructional clinics and the latest in equipment and accessories.

The 2011 TTBC will host a 50-angler field, assembled from the top professional leagues in the world, including the PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series, Bassmaster Elite Series and the Walmart FLW Tour. The format has created a true bass fishing world championship. All professional anglers must be members of the PAA to compete.

Brian Snowden, of Reeds Spring, Missouri, won the 2010 tournament over Toyota Pro Team angler Michael Iaconelli, calling it “the biggest [victory] of my life.”

Anglers will compete on Lake Conroe over three days with the field being reduced to the top-10 who will compete in the final round on Sunday, October 30. The tournament remains a non-entry fee event, with all 50 competing anglers taking home guaranteed prize money, including a new Legend Bass Boat for the champion. In addition, the TTBC will continue its focus on conservation and adhere to strict catch, weigh and immediate release format that has earned the event national praise the past four years.

The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department has received $1 million in donations from the TTBC over the past four years. The 2011 donation will include a minimum of $250,000. “The focus of these programs is to expose kids and non-traditional users to the sport of fishing and the conservation efforts upon which all good fishing depends,” said JC Fassino, President, Texas Bass Classic Foundation.

The Lone Star Convention & Expo Center is a state-of-the-art facility conveniently located minutes from Lake Conroe and The Woodlands and only 40 minutes north of Houston. The location offers easy access to event activities, local shops and restaurants. For more information visit
