The Woodlands defeated Klein Forest 19-0 on Tuesday to claim its sixth-straight district title.

The District 15-6A champion Highlanders (13-2, 8-0) were ranked fourth in Class 6A in the Texas Tennis Coaches Associations’ mid-season poll.

Tuesday’s win also extended a district winning streak for The Woodlands to 42.

In the win over Klein Forest, the Highlanders’ closest outcome was 8-3.

Both boys and girls doubles had a pair of 8-0 wins. For the boys, Garrett Skelly and Jess Taylor earned a shutout along with Rock Kanzarkar and Sanjay Radhakrishnan. Avery Hilbig and Natalia Esteban won 8-0 at girls doubles along with Reneé Lavalle and Melanie Betanks.

The Woodlands won four girls singles matches 8-0. Lavalle, Vickie Conde, Madeleine Clark and Alice Dang were all shutout winners.

Taylor and Aidan Fish both won 8-0 at boys singles.

The Highlanders take on Aldine Eisenhower on Tuesday at home at 2 p.m. in the bi-district round of the playoffs.
