A band of mild showers is making its way across Houston and much of southeast Texas Wednesday as a cold front moves in, according to meteorologists with the National Weather Service.

Houstonians should take extra precautions as they commute into town. Early morning showers have already slickened some of the roadways and a 90 percent chance of rain will continue through much of the day, meteorologists say. Areas north of Houston can expect up to an inch of rain, according to meteorologists.

But the soggy weather isn’t for naught. Houston will see a high of 77, with slight winds and gusts of up to 25 mph, meteorologists say. Wednesday’s low will be near 59.
