The Woodlands kicked off its postseason with a 13-0 win in five innings over Dekaney in Game 1 of a Region II-6A bi-district series on Wednesday.

The Lady Highlanders (23-5) saw a combined no-hit effort in the circle from Avery Taylor and Tennessee signee Amanda Curran, who threw 31 pitches, stuck out four and walked one in a two-inning return from injury. Taylor struck out five and walked one in three innings.

At the plate, Skylar Stockton led the 14-hit effort with her 4-for-4 night. She doubled, tripled, scored twice and drove in three runs. Haley Mountain added a two-run home run.

The Woodlands will go for the sweep in Game 2, which is Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Grand Oaks.

Splendora wins big

Splendora beat Hardin-Jefferson 15-2 in five innings on Wednesday in Game 1 of a Region III-4A bi-district series.

The Ladycats (24-3) were led by Gracie Bumpurs, who was 3-for-4 with a single, double and a 2-run home run. In the circle, Caleigh Millican picked up the win. She saw three innings of action, allowed one hit and struck out four.

Splendora hosts Hardin-Jefferson on Friday at 6:30 p.m. for Game 2.
