Lake Creek remained unbeaten Saturday with a pair of victories at the Humble ISD Tournament.
The Lions (23-0) opened the day with a dominant effort against Lamar. Kalee Rochinski, Maddie McKee, Ava Brown and Emiley Kennedy all homered in the win. Madelyn Lopez had a double and a triple. Caelee Clark, Brown and Lopez all had two hits. Lopez, Kennedy and Brown drove in two runs apiece.
In the circle, Brenna Kelly pitched all three innings with one hit allowed, three strikeouts and a walk.
Lake Creek earned a 2-0 victory over Kingwood to close out the day.
Madelyn Lopez had a solo home run, and Ava Brown drove in the Lions’ other run.
Kennedy pitched a two-hit, complete-game shutout. She finished with 16 strikeouts and zero walks.
Lake Creek hosts Caney Creek at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Porter splits games
Porter split a pair of games at the Humble ISD Tournament Saturday.
The Lady Spartans (6-13) began the day with the win over Goose Creek Memorial. Porter put all of its runs on the board in the first three innings. Makaylee Ellenberger led the way offensively with two doubles and two runs scored. Kyla Heine, who was 3 for 3, had an RBI. Isabella Garley and Leslie Figueroa drove in a run apiece as well.
In the circle, Garley and Dakota Newcomb split the game. Garley pitched two innings with a line of one hit, one earned run, one strikeout and zero walks. Newcomb pitched four innings with seven hits, two earned runs, three strikeouts and zero walks.
Porter finished the day with a 6-1 loss against Atascocita.
Porter is at Kingwood Park at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
