The Grand Oaks bats exploded for an eight-run fourth inning as the Grizzlies rolled past Magnolia, 16-4, in five innings in non-district softball on Monday.

Morgan Yeager was 4 for 4 with a 3-run homer, a double and five RBIs for the Grizzlies (10-2). Carissa Villareal also homered and drove in two runs. She scored three times. Savannah Pemberton was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and three runs. Katelyn Dunbar had two hits and two RBIs.

Kourtney Bellinger took the win with five innings worked, four earned runs allowed on four hits and two strikeouts.

Caitlyn Stevens homered for Magnolia (6-5). Krystal Anne Castaneda, Jamison Holder and Kynlee Drake each had an RBI.

Magnolia hosts Katy Paetow Saturday in District 19-5A while Grand Oaks is off until next Tuesday when it starts District 13-6A at College Park.

Caney Creek, Cleveland postponed

In District 20-5A, Caney Creek at Cleveland was postponed Monday due to field conditions. The game will be made up Wednesday at 6:15 p.m.

In the meantime, the Lady Panthers have another district game Tuesday at home against Porter at 6:15 p.m.
