The Woodlands wins big

The Woodlands beat Klein Collins 5-0 on the road Friday night in District 15-6A play.

The Highlanders (11-1-1, 7-0) got two goals from Cody Tice and one apiece from Diego Rodriguez, Nico Gonzalez and Santi Balderas-Berg. Eddy Tenorio and Noah Shepherd shared the shutout in net.

The Woodlands hosts Klein Forest on Monday night at 7:30 p.m.

College Park tops Klein Cain

College Park pulled away from Klein Cain in the second half for a 4-2 District 15-6A win at home Friday night.

The Cavaliers (5-4-3, 3-3-1) led 1-0 at halftime behind AJ Vera’s goal, which was assisted by Jesse Botello.

After the Hurricanes evened the score, College Park scored three unanswered goals. Pedro Romero broke the tie thanks in part to a Ricardo Aranda assist. Ronaldo Tello and Aranda increased the lead.

Klein Cain scored with five minutes left, then the Cavs held on for the win.

College Park is at Klein on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Caney Creek rolls past Lions

Caney Creek picked up a 5-0 win over Lake Creek in District 20-5A Friday night.

The Panthers (9-5, 8-2) got goals by Leodan Pacheco, Jair Lopez, Joaquin Rodriguez and Ulysses Cruz. The fifth goal was an own goal by Lake Creek (3-9-1, 2-7-1).

Caney Creek hosts Kingwood Park Tuesday night while Lake Creek hosts Grand Oaks.

Willis edges New Caney

Willis earned a 4-2 road victory at New Caney in District 20-5A play on Friday.

Josh Valezquez and Daniel Salas each scored two goal for the Wildkats (5-8-1, 3-6-1). Charlie Aguilera scored both goals for the Eagles (3-10-3, 1-8-1) with an assist from Keith Osorio.

Willis returns to action at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Porter. New Caney will travel to play Huntsville at the same time that evening.

Oak Ridge shut out at home

Oak Ridge fell 2-0 to Klein at home in District 15-6A Friday night.

The War Eagles (7-4-1, 2-4-1) travel to Conroe Monday night.

Splendora earns first district victory

Splendora earned a 5-3 home victory over Liberty in District 21-4A play on Friday.

Hector Villegas led the Wildcats with three goals and one assist. Baruc Delgado finished with two assists, and Keven Jimenez and Elvin Gonzalez each scored one goal.

Splendora returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Livingston.

Magnolia ties College Station

Magnolia played College Station to a scoreless draw in District 19-5A action on Friday.

Goalkeeper Rodolfo Garcia earned the shutout for the Bulldogs (6-3-1, 4-2-1), who return to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brenham.

Porter took a 3-2 win over Grand Oaks Friday in District 20-5A.

Grand Oaks (3-8-3, 2-6-2) got a pair of goals on free kicks by Benji Alvarado.

The Grizzlies travel to Lake Creek Tuesday night.

Porter (9-3, 8-2) travels to Willis Tuesday night.

Bears blanked by Kingwood Park

Montgomery took a 5-0 loss to Kingwood Park on the road in District 20-5A Friday night.

The Bears (5-9-3, 1-8-1) play host to Tomball Tuesday night.

Caney Creek tops Lake Creek

Lake Creek earned a 4-1 home victory over Lake Creek in District 20-5A play on Friday.

Lilli Sanchez scored on an assist from Julie Mendoza just before halftime to give the Lady Panthers (9-5-2, 4-4-2) the lead. The team then scored back-to-back goals early in the second half. The first came from Sanchez on an assist from Lesly Martinez. The seconds came from Ellie Blankenship with an assist from Martinez. Rudy Castillo scored with two minutes remaining with an assist from Elyn Zamudio.

Alyn Zamudio had 12 saves in goal for Caney Creek.

Caney Creek returns to action at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kingwood Park. Lake Creek (9-7, 4-6), meanwhile, travels to play Grand Oaks at the same time that evening.

Valeria Hernandez added the other goal for the Lady Eagles (6-7-1, 5-5) while Esveidy Norberto made two saves for the shutout against the Ladykats (3-12, 1-9).

New Caney hosts Huntsville Tuesday night while Willis travels to Porter.
