Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Resort is expected to open along Lake Conroe by summer 2020, and Houstonians are finally getting a first look at the development.
The project will transform the former La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa into a resort modeled after Buffett and his legendary hit songs. The 186-acre waterfront resort will feature its own 20-story luxury hotel tower, Buffett-themed restaurants, an 18-hole golf course and a three-acre lakefront waterpark, according to a release from commercial real estate firm Songy Highroads. More than a dozen Margaritaville Resorts can be found around the world; the Lake Conroe location will be the first in Texas.

Once completed, the hotel will boast 303 luxury suites and 32 cottages located directly on the lake. Each suite is outfitted with a balcony, living and sleeping area and two televisions.
The resort will house five restaurants, many of which offer swim-up pool bar seating. Restaurants include a LandShark Bar and Grill: a 5 o'Clock Somewhere swim-up pool bar; Lone Palm Pool Bar & Restaurant and License to Chill & Chill Bar.
Other amenities include tennis and pickleball courts, full-service spa, 24-hour fitness center, outdoor pools and a lazy river.
