The Woodlands picked up a key victory in District 15-6A action on Friday to keep pace with Conroe for the fourth playoff spot, holding on for a 64-63 home victory against Oak Ridge.

Senior forward Andres Pallares gave the Highlanders (19-11, 9-6) the lead on a jumper with 15 seconds remaining. The Woodlands then blocked an Oak Ridge shot on the other end of the floor with six seconds to play. The War Eagles got one last opportunity but missed on another attempt at the buzzer.

Brock Luechtefeld led The Woodlands with 18 points. Hagen Byerly finished with 14 points, and Tyler Hveem added 10. Marco Limon scored a game-high 28 points for the War Eagles (8-22, 2-13).

The Woodlands and Conroe will enter the final night of the regular season tied for fourth place. The Highlanders have the tiebreaker via two head-to-head victories.

The Woodlands wraps up the district schedule at 7 p.m. Tuesday at College Park. Tickets for the rivalry game are being pre-sold on Tuesday at the school. Oak Ridge, meanwhile, will wrap up its season at the same time that night as the team plays host to Klein Collins.

Magnolia rolls past Waller

Magnolia rolled to a 51-36 victory over Waller in District 19-5A play on Friday.

Andrew Bauer and Hezekiah Livings led the Bulldogs (24-8, 10-3) with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Magnolia wraps up the regular season at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Consol.

Lake Creek beats Caney Creek

Lake Creek earned a 63-39 road victory over Caney Creek in District 20-5A play on Friday.

Pierce Spencer led the Lions (23-11, 14-3) with 27 points. Hudson Boyd added 10, and Mason Moore had nine.

Lake Creek returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Grand Oaks. Caney Creek (5-26, 0-17), meanwhile, will conclude its season at Kingwood Park at the same time that evening.

Porter topples Grand Oaks

Porter earned a 63-48 home victory over Grand Oaks in District 20-5A play on Friday.

Ryan Rogers led the Spartans (10-22, 6-11) with 18 points. Luke Currier and Caleb Garcia added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Porter returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at home against Willis. Grand Oaks (14-20, 3-13), meanwhile, will play host to Lake Creek at the same time that evening.

Splendora falls against Huffman

Splendora suffered a 59-46 home loss against Huffman-Hargrave in District 21-4A play on Friday.

Lucas Ferrari led the Wildcats (12-20, 2-7) with 21 points. Jagger Kennedy finished with 10.

Splendora returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Livingston.

Magnolia West loses to Rudder

Magnolia West suffered a 71-47 loss at Bryan Rudder in District 19-5A action on Friday.

Ty Finch scored 20 points to lead the Mustangs (5-20, 1-12), who wrap up their season at 7 p.m. Tuesday at home against College Station.

Splendora falls in tiebreaker game

Splendora lost 60-46 to Tarkington in a seeding tiebreaker game Friday night.

The Ladycats (17-18), who finished third in District 21-4A, will play Lumberton in the bi-district round early next week. The exact details of the game were not known Friday night.

Mykala Moore scored 20 points to lead Splendora on Friday. Audrey Frazier finished with 11.
