New Caney beat rival Porter 73-26 at home Tuesday night to earn the No. 2 seed in District 20-5A.
The Eagles (26-7, 15-3) got 23 points from Abigail Lynch and 20 from Tori Garza. Micha Mize chipped in 12.
Mikayla Scott led the Spartans (9-25, 3-15) with nine points.
New Caney’s bi-district game information was not available Tuesday night.
Magnolia West falls in district title game
Magnolia West lost 53-48 at College Station in a de facto District 19-5A title game Tuesday night.
The teams entered the night with equal district records and the host Cougars (20-7, 12-2) came out on top. Na’layjah Johnson led the way with 15 points.
The Mustangs (28-8, 11-3), 19-5A’s two seed, got 19 points from Kamryn Jones and 13 from Alyssa May.
Magnolia West will play Lake Creek in the bi-district round. Matchup details were not known Tuesday night.
Lake Creek tops Montgomery
Lake Creek beat Montgomery 49-41 in District 20-5A play Tuesday night.
The Lions (22-9, 13-5) got 19 points from Makenzie Logeman and 15 from Taliyah McShan. Lake Creek finished in a tie in the standings with Kingwood Park and will enter the postseason as the district’s No. 3 seed because it swept the Panthers in the regular season. Details on the Lions’ bi-district matchup, which will be against District 19-5A’s Magnolia West early next week, were not available Tuesday night.
Montgomery (8-23, 4-14) got 14 points from Lindsey Hefner and eight from Jade Gomez in its season finale.
College Park wraps with win
College Park ended its season on a high note with a 38-20 win over Klein on Tuesday night in District 15-6A play.
The Cavaliers (7-23, 3-13) saw eight of their 11 players score in the win. Bobbi Bazzle had six points, nine rebounds and three steals. Treasure Harrison had six points and six steals. Mia Olguin also scored six points.
Willis closes season with win
Willis beat Tomball 42-38 on Tuesday in District 20-5A play.
The Ladykats (12-21, 10-8) got 11 points from Rayelyn Alison and eight from Mya Villarreal.
Splendora falls to Liberty
Splendora lost 41-38 to Liberty on Tuesday night in District 21-4A play.
The Ladycats (17-17, 6-4) were led by Mykala Moore’s 10 points. Erin Kendall and Mel Owens chipped in nine points each.
Splendora’s bi-district information was not available Tuesday night.
Magnolia falls in season finale
Magnolia lost 69-61 to Bryan Rudder on Tuesday in District 19-5A play.
The Bulldogs (13-16, 3-11) had a balanced effort in the loss.
Gabrielle Huetter led the way offensively with 19 points and added seven rebounds and four steals. Sophie Christiansen had 11 rebounds and scored five points. Audrey Andrews had 12 points, four assists and four rebounds. Sydney Holland scored nine points, as did Claire McCusker. McCusker had five assists and Holland had two. Brynn Botkin added four points and six rebounds.
The Woodlands ends season with loss
The Woodlands lost 35-29 to Klein Forest on Tuesday night to wrap up District 15-6A play and its season.
The Lady Highlanders (6-25, 1-15) got 10 points from Anna-Claire Biggerstaff, and seven points and seven rebounds from Hailey Anderson.
Montgomery upsets Lake Creek
Montgomery scored a huge 48-38 home victory over crosstown rival Lake Creek in District 20-5A action on Tuesday.
Montgomery is now tied for fourth place with Willis heading into its next game.
Tyler Elliott led the Bears (16-16, 9-7) with 22 points. Mateo Moreno added eight points, and Isaac Lawson finished with seven.
Pierce Spencer led the Lions (22-11, 13-3) with 22 points and seven rebounds, and Zack Hazlewood finished with nine points. Lake Creek was playing without its second- and third-leading scorers, Hudson Boyd and Jordan Fitch.
Montgomery returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday at home against Kingwood Park. Lake Creek, meanwhile, will travel to play Caney Creek at the same time that evening.
Conroe tops Oak Ridge
Conroe beat Oak Ridge 49-43 on Tuesday in District 15-6A to keep pace with The Woodlands for fourth place in the district standings.
The Tigers (13-17, 8-6) got 18 points from Michael Phoenix II and 13 from Isaac Wilkerson.
Ian Egele led all scorers, and the War Eagles (8-21, 2-12) with 22 points.
Conroe hosts College Park on Friday. Oak Ridge is at The Woodlands.

New Caney won 59-44 at rival Porter on Tuesday in District 20-5A play.
The Eagles (16-15, 6-10) got a game-high 22 points from Zion Childress. Phillip McDaniel had 12 and Sam Brandon added 10.
The Spartans (9-22, 5-11) got 13 points from Colby Christian and nine from Ke’Shun Simon.
New Caney is at Willis on Friday, while Porter hosts Grand Oaks.
Willis falls to Tomball in overtime
Willis lost 55-54 to Tomball in overtime Tuesday night in District 20-5A play.
The Wildkats (14-20, 9-7) were led by Ja’Kobe McCoy, who had 17 points. Ja’Len Moore and Charles Kibble added 11 apiece.
Willis hosts New Caney on Friday.
Magnolia wins big
Magnolia beat Bryan Rudder 62-47 on the road Tuesday night in District 19-5A play.
The Bulldogs (23-8, 9-3) were led by Lawson Lowry, who scored 18 points. Connor Lindvall had 13 and Andrew Bauer had 11.
Magnolia hosts Waller on Friday.
Grand Oaks beats Caney Creek
Grand Oaks beat Caney Creek 61-36 on Tuesday night in District 20-5A play.
The Grizzlies (14-19, 3-13) got 10 points apiece from Ian Bayombo and Doug Sanford. Grand Oaks is at Porter on Friday.
Caney Creek (5-25, 0-16) hosts Lake Creek on Friday.
Splendora scores big victory
Splendora earned a 63-51 road victory over Liberty in District 21-4A play on Tuesday.
Jaxon Ward led the Wildcats (12-19, 2-6) with 18 points. Jagger Kennedy added 14 points, and Lucas Ferrari finished with 10.
Splendora returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday at home against Huffman-Hargrave.
Klein tops College Park, clinches district title
Klein beat College Park 70-57 on Tuesday and clinched the District 15-6A title.
The Cavaliers (21-9, 11-3) got 13 points from Marvin Dock and 12 from Drew Calderon.
Klein improved to 20-7 overall and pushed its district record to 13-1.
College Park is at Conroe on Friday.

Magnolia West lost 67-39 at home Tuesday in District 19-5A play.
The Mustangs (5-19, 1-11) were led by Ty Finch’s 10 points. Connor Kelly and Reed Coleman had eight points apiece.
