Magnolia West beat Willis 62-18 to open the season on Friday night.
Magnolia West (1-0) was led by Megan Donnelly with 17 points. Kamari Portalis had 14 points and Kamryn Jones added 12.
Willis (0-1) got 10 points from Jasmine Kelly while Ali McNew grabbed seven rebounds in the loss.
Willis travels to Katy Paetow on Tuesday while the Mustangs host Kingwood Park.
OAK RIDGE WINS FIRST GAME
Oak Ridge beat Katy Taylor 55-51 on the road to open its season Friday night.
The Lady War Eagles (1-0) were led by Mersadez Nephew’s 17 points and six rebounds. Nikki Petrakovitz had 12 points and six steals. Kayla Alford had nine points.
Oak Ridge is at Tomball Memorial on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
MAGNOLIA FALLS TO WESTFIELD
Magnolia opened its season with a 61-45 loss to Westfield on Friday evening.
Gabrielle Huetter led the Lady Bulldogs (0-1) with 12 points, and Sohpie Christiansen added 11.
Magnolia returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Klein Oak.
LAKE CREEK DROPS OPENER
Lake Creek lost 77-48 to Waller at home to open its season Friday night.
The Lions (0-1) were led by Collette Taylor, who had 16 points and played strong on defense. Taliyah McShan had 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Lake Creek is at Aldine Davis for a 6 p.m. tip on Tuesday, then competes in the Conroe Tournament next weekend.
TWHS FALLS TO NIMITZ
The Woodlands opened its season with a 71-38 loss at home against Aldine Nimitz on Friday evening.
Lauren Szot led the Lady Highlanders (0-1) with nine points and five rebounds, and Sophia Weisbrod added eight points and five rebounds.
The Woodlands returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at home against Westfield.
COLLEGE PARK FALLS
College Park lost its season opener 57-15 to Cypress Lakes at home Friday night.
The Lady Cavaliers (0-1) are at Cy-Fair at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
TWCA OPENS WITH WIN
The Woodlands Christian Academy opened the season with a 52-51 road victory over Legacy Prep on Thursday evening. Emily Jasek led the way for the Lady Warriors (1-0) with 34 points. Sydney Lamberth finished with eight points, and Caleigh Wilbourn added five.
TWCA returns to action at 6 p.m. Monday at Bryan-St. Joseph.
COOPER ROLLS TO VICTORY
The John Cooper School opened its season with a 63-48 victory over Lutheran South on Thursday.
The Dragons (1-0) were led by 17 points from Jorynn Ross, 16 points from Aalyssa Rogers and 15 points from Ajailah Ogiemwonyi.
Cooper returns to action at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Legacy Prep.
TWCA TOPS FRASSATI
The Woodlands Christian Academy continued its strong start to the season with an 85-57 victory at Frassati Catholic on Thursday evening. Bakari Lastrap led the Warriors (2-0) with 23 points. Austin Benigni finished with 15 points, and Chanse Perkins added 13. Tucker Nooe and E.J. Jones each had 10 points.
TWCA was back in action on Friday to begin play at the Elite 14 Showcase at Wichita Falls.
