Magnolia beat rival Magnolia West 60-52 on Friday night in District 19-5A play.
The Bulldogs (11-5, 4-0) got 31 points from Connor Lindvall in the win, who hit six 3-pointers in the career-high effort. Andrew Bauer added 13 points.
The Mustangs (5-5, 2-3) were led by Ty Finch’s 15 points. Donnie Schroeder had 12 points and JP Ellwanger added 10.
Both teams are back in action at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Magnolia is at Bryan Rudder, while Magnolia West hosts Katy Paetow.
Porter edges Montgomery
Porter beat Montgomery 50-48 in District 20-5A play Friday night.
The Spartans (6-9, 2-2) were led by Ke’Shun Simon’s 15 points and Caleb Garcia added 14.
Porter hosts Kingwood Park at 7 p.m. Tuesday while Montgomery (5-9, 1-3) is at Cleveland.
Lake Creek wins in overtime
Lake Creek beat Cleveland 56-53 in overtime Friday in District 20-5A play.
The Lions (9-5, 4-0) got 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists from Jordan Fitch in the win. Hudson Boyd had 16 points and six rebounds, and Mason Moore chipped in nine points.
Lake Creek is at Caney Creek at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Warriors pummel Cristo Rey Jesuit
The Woodlands Christian Academy played well defensively in a 66-9 win over Cristo Rey Jesuit in TAPPS District 5-5A Friday night.
The Warriors (10-4, 2-0) got 14 points and five rebounds by Chanse Perkins and 12 points and five assists by Austin Beginini. Zion Pipkins added 10 points and Cedric Cook had eight points and nine rebounds.
Splendora falls to Liberty
Splendora lost 52-51 to Liberty in District 21-4A play Friday night.
The Wildcats (6-9, 0-3) were led by Lucas Ferrari’s 16 points. Jaxon Ward was close behind with 15.
Splendora hosts Livingston at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
New Caney tops Caney Creek
New Caney beat Caney Creek 36-29 in District 20-5A play Friday night.
The Eagles (5-6, 2-2) got 12 points from Kendall Love in the win.
The Panthers (4-12, 0-4) got 10 from Adan Maldonado and nine from Kyle Hughes.
New Caney is at Dayton on Tuesday, while Caney Creek hosts Lake Creek. Both games tip off at 7 p.m.
Mag West gets revenge on rival Magnolia
The Magnolia West Mustangs topped rival Magnolia 43-32 Friday as the teams split the season series in District 19-5A.
The Mustangs (8-7, 2-4) got a game-high 25 points from Kamari Portalis while Avery Maywald added 10 points.
For Magnolia (7-12, 3-4), Gabrielle Huetter had 11 points and seven rebounds, and Brynn Botkin added eight points and 16 rebounds.
Magnolia West has won seven of eight against Magnolia dating back to 2017.
The Bulldogs have a makeup game Saturday at home against Waller. On Tuesday, Magnolia West travels to Katy Paetow.
Logeman, Payne lead Lake Creek
Lake Creek won its second District 20-5A game of the week, 60-29, over Cleveland.
Logeman had 20 points (five 3-pointers) to lead the Lions (9-8, 4-2) while Jazzy Payne netted a career-high 19 points. Lake Creek was missing Taliyah McShan due to an ankle injury. Kennedy Oliver had eight steals.
The Lions continue league play Tuesday at home against Caney Creek at 7 p.m.
Moore leads Splendora past Liberty
Mykala Moore scored 28 points to lead Splendora to a 51-43 win over Liberty on Friday in District 21-4A play.
The Ladycats (8-5, 2-3) also got 10 points from Mel Owens and Janet Reyes scored nine points.
Splendora is at Livingston at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Dragons starts SPC with win
The John Cooper Dragons defeated Episcopal 59-51 to begin Southwest Preparatory play Friday evening.
Alyssa Rogers and Madison Rogers each led Cooper (9-1, 1-0) with 14 points respectively. Jorynn Ross added 12 points and Ajailah Ogiemwonyi added 11.
