College Park topped Grand Oaks 37-33 on the road Saturday in District 13-6A play.

The Cavaliers (11-7, 2-1) got a well-rounded effort from Bobbi Bazzle, who had eight points, three steals, two blocks and two assists. Ali Diop had a game-high 10 points. Grace Garcia had eight points and four rebounds.

The Grizzlies (11-4, 2-1) got nine points apiece from Keandrea Allen and Kaitlyn Stewart.

College Park is at Willis at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Grand Oaks hosts Conroe at the same time.

Oak Ridge tops Conroe

Oak Ridge beat Conroe 55-49 on Saturday in District 13-6A play.

The Lady War Eagles (16-3, 2-1) are now in a four-way tie for the district lead with College Park, Conroe and Grand Oaks. Oak Ridge got 12 points apiece from Nikki Petrakovitz and Raniyah Lewis. Lewis also had six rebounds, three steals and three blocks. Allison Owens scored 10 points.

The Lady Tigers (7-4, 2-1) got 18 points from Daniela Galindo and Isabella Stafford added 11.

Oak Ridge hosts The Woodlands at 7 p.m. Wednesday, while Conroe is at Grand Oaks.

The Woodlands beats Willis

The Woodlands beat Willis 66-39 on Saturday in District 13-6A play.

The Lady Highlanders (6-12, 1-2) got 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists from Anna-Clair Biggerstaff. Anna Orr had 17 points and seven rebounds. Sowmya Swaminathan added 11 points to the victorious effort.

The Ladykats (2-14, 0-3) were led by Janiah Traylor’s 17 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Semiah Eldridge had seven points and three rebounds. Lucy Smith added six points, six rebounds and three steals.

Willis hosts College Park at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Woodlands is at Oak Ridge at the same time.

Magnolia tops Waller

Magnolia beat Waller 39-30 in District 19-5A play Saturday.

Brynn Botkin had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (8-12, 4-4) in the win. Sydney Holland had eight points and four assists. Gabrielle Huetter scored seven points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Claire McCusker added five points and five rebounds.

Magnolia hosts Bryan Rudder at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.


Conroe wins second straight district game

Conroe topped Oak Ridge 65-58 on Saturday in District 13-6A play.

The Tigers (5-9, 2-3) got 18 points from Ja’Len Moore and 12 from Mikey Sneed.

The War Eagles (7-9, 1-4) were led by AJ Badger’s 12 points. AJ Osborne and Brendon Doucette scored 10 each.

Conroe hosts Grand Oaks at 7 p.m. Wednesday, while Oak Ridge is at The Woodlands the same night.

College Park rolls past Grand Oaks

College Park beat Grand Oaks 71-40 to wrap up the first round of District 13-6A play unbeaten.

The Cavaliers (14-3, 5-0) got 16 points from Drew Calderon in the win. Darel Reece had 13 points. Ty Buckmon had 11 points, six rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocks in an all-around effort.

Grand Oaks (9-7, 3-2) is at Conroe at 7 p.m. Wednesday. College Park hosts Willis at the same time.

The Woodlands tops Willis

The Woodlands started strong, then held off Willis in a 56-45 District 13-6A win Saturday.

The Highlanders (13-4, 4-1) wrap up the first round of district play alone in second place. In Saturday’s win, Shey Eberwein, Justin Sheldon and Brock Luechtefeld had 13 points apiece.

The Woodlands led 42-20 at halftime before Willis (2-15, 0-5) fought back in the second half.

The Wildkats got 17 points from Terrance Patterson in the loss. Bay Hutchins added nine.

On Wednesday at 7 p.m., Willis is at College Park and The Woodlands hosts Oak Ridge.
