Baron Bradley caught three touchdown passes from Jack Reilly as the Porter Spartans defeated Houston Austin 35-9 Thursday night at Barnett Stadium.
Porter improves to 4-1 on the year and 2-0 in District 9-5A (Div. I). The Mustangs fall to 1-4 and 0-2 in district play.
The Spartans led 28-0 at halftime as Bradley had two scores. He caught a 12-yarder with 1:43 left in the first quarter and a 45-yard with 67 seconds before the break.
Trace Knight opened up scoring with a 26-yard catch from Reilly at the 9:49 mark. Reilly had a 3-yard score in the second quarter.
Bradley then caught a 78-yard touchdown in the third quarter to cap the Spartans’ scoring for the night. He totaled 155 yards on the game.
Knight had 93 yards receiving as Reilly threw for 258 yards.
Caleb Evans-Pickens led the Porter rushing attack with 86 yards.
The Spartan defense allowed 236 yards of total offense to Austin and are allowing just 10.4 points per game. Including the Mustangs, Porter has held three teams to single-digit points. North Forest and Dayton each scored just seven points apiece respectively against Porter back in September.
Porter hosts Goose Creek Memorial next Friday, Oct. 11, at Randall Reed Stadium.
