At Burroughs Park in Tomball Saturday morning, the host Dragons swept both Division I races in the John Cooper Invitational.
The Woodlands Christian Academy girls team also fared well with a first place finish in the Division II race.
Dragon runner Will McDermott was the overall winner of the meet in the boys race as he finished at 10:00.72 ahead of teammate Cadan Hanson who was second at 10:08.93.
Vishnu Swaminathan was 11th for John Cooper at 10:38.92. Zac Winton was 19th while Andrew Mahler was 21st. Carson Hanson was 33rd.
John Cooper had 52 points, five ahead of LC Clear Springs.
Willis’ Carlos Barcenas was third place at 10:09.01. Kebin Guererro finished in 15th place while Ryan Springs was 26th. The Wildkats finished sixth as a team.
The Lady Dragons tied Epsicopal in points with 73. But John Cooper’s combined time was better at 1:05.40 to Episcopal’s 1:05.55.40.
Katie Drake was the top John Cooper runner in 12th place at 12:51.40. Chloe Smith was 14th at 12:55.70. Rebecca Melin was 17th, Madison Breaux was 19th and Megan Day was 22nd.
Willis’ top runner was Julianna Garcia in 21st place. The Ladykats finished sixth as a team.
In the boys Division II race, Nathan Evans of Conroe Covenant Christian was fourth place at 10:56.81. The Cougars were third place (113 points) as James Scott (12th), David Lewis (14th), Cole Westmoreland (46th) and Ben Chandler (61st) all contributed.
TWCA was led by Lindsay Washington who was third place at 13:25.76. Fern Shirley was fourth at 13:28.35. Ellie Johnson also made the Top 10 in ninth. Isabella Krantzcke was 15th and Sydney Mathis was 22nd
