The Woodlands Christian Academy baseball team won its postseason opener on Tuesday evening in Marion, Texas, defeating Schertz John Paul II 8-3.

The Warriors (16-12-1) received a standout pitching performance from Tyler Davis, who allowed just four hits and two earned runs over six innings. He finished the game with seven strikeouts.

Austin Boyd led the charge at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Nevan Newcomb also went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Caden Queck, Caedmon Parker and Davis each had two hits.

Caleb Chappelle collected three of the Warriors' eight stolen bases.

TWCA will take on Pasadena First Baptist Christian in the next round.
