Roxanne Davis, community liaison for The Woodlands Family YMCAs at Shadowbend and Branch Crossing, said the 21st annual YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge, presented by Repsol, was a huge success with more than $80,000 raised by teams.

“It was fabulous, everybody we talked to said this was the best one ever. They liked the variety of events we had this year,” Davis said, referring to the multi-event set-up of team challenges such as dodge ball, human foosball and other games. “We had 97 teams registered and that is more than 2,500 team members. It also takes more than 200 volunteers and staff. We worked hard and played hard. We’ll raise more than $80,000 after expenses.

This year’s results included the fastest dragon boat time overall: Team Crossfit OverTake: 1:55.77; and the fastest obstacle course time overall: also Team Crossfit OverTake, with a time of 4:53
