Planned an appointment for myself and two others (one an 11-year-old) for basic pedicures at the spa. The prices listed on the website were incorrect. I called about a week ahead to make the appointments and was told the basic pedicures would be $45 for the two adults, and $40 for the child, and that the prices had gone up at the New Year, which was why the website was wrong. When we arrived, the woman who greeted us directed us to the waiting area and told us she’d be right with us to offer us something to dring, etc. She never re-appeared (and in case you think it’s b/c she was very busy, we were the only clients in the lobby or waiting area). We were taken back for the pedicures (still never offered a drink). The pedicures themselves were fine – nothing spectacular – and the two pedicurists carried on a rather loud conversation between themselves the entire time. I knew $45 was pricey for a BASIC pedicure, but decided it was worth it to be able to go on Sunday as many other places were closed, but I wish I’d reconsidered. When I went to pay, they charged me $45 for all three of us, and when I said I’d spoken with someone less than a week ago and they said the child’s would be $40, the woman at the desk was very short with me and just repeated that it was $45 – $5 is not a big deal, but it was THEY who gave the bad information. Then they added an automatic gratuity of 21% to every pedicure, totaling $9.75 tip per each pedicure. This fact was not mentioned when I called about price or when we signed in either. So for what, in my experience, I considered a very mediocre experience, it was $54.75/each. Skip it – go somewhere else or save your money and do it yourself.
