Rico’s seems to be doing very well at this location. Their queso is thick and spicy and Margaritas are juicy and large. Food dishes I’ve eaten here have been delicious with large portions. I am glad they chose FM 1097 for one of their Lake Conroe locations.

Lake Houston is down 7 feet. The “foot” you heard was how much water they have before the city water plant shuts down. That’s why the emergency request for our water. The idea is to maintain that level in Lake Houston so the plant can continue to operate.

Good to know. Thanks. Shame-but it does seem doom and pestilence makes news-I won’t say “good” news. I am scheduled to do a half ironman distance triathlon on Lake Conroe in November and hoping the drought won’t effect the water quality too much. Maybe we will have rain before then…

I read in the Chronicle within the last two days that ..”lake Houston is down ALMOST a foot…” Almost a foot…..our lake is down at least 5-6 feet and now they are draining it! This lake supplies the water to the wells in OUR community and it just doesn’t seem like Lake Houston is suffering nearly as badly as Conroe, why take our water now? The summer is not over yet and its hard enough to get the boat out now with the drought not to mention the losses our local businesses will suffer when there is no boat traffic or visitors to the area. Just had to get that off my chest. The only good thing is the ability to make repairs to bulk heads and dredging.

I have to admire your optimism and profound enthusiasm about Montgomery County, I hope your member of the chamber of commerce, you’d make a great salesman. Unfortunately I don’t share your exuburance. We moved to the area in 1989 from the fm1960 and 290 area to get away from the horrible traffic and over crowded CyFair schools. Today the traffic on 105 near 45 is a nightmare, the highway expansion obviously didn’t help, we only go to Conroe when it is unavoidable, two or three times as year. Then there is the school system, I can only speak of Conroe High since both my children went there, it is run like a minimum security prison with no discipline, kids going to school in pajamas was the breaking point. Then there is the county, driving through all the trash along the highways and side roads is a disgrace, one of the worst in the State. You need to take a closer look…

We are just now starting the process to build on Lake Conroe only to find they put the bulkhead ten feet into our property line. How difficult and expensive is it to move it out to gain the extra footage to our property line? Where do we begin? Thanks!

Sounds like CHEAP adhesives & sloppy workmanship was the real cause of your repair and NOT a storage issue. Rinker should have stepped up & made good on this to avoid the bad press…shame on them!

Businesses should think of Customer Service above all and if you thing this is such a small issue that is even more reason that Rinker should have take care of it. I’ve owned boats my whole life all in covered wet storage with never an issue such as this. It seems that something as simple as Glue should have been perfected years ago and should not be an issue today.

I am part of a boat broker service that handles reselling boats. In my experience, boats stored in wet slips and not completely covered have many more issues than those placed in covered dry storage(especially concrete). Rinker boats do pretty well on the resale market, so they must not be too bad. Your bill wasn’t too high either. Seems every time we put a boat into a service situation it costs lots more than $325. I’d save these kinds of postings for a bigger hit than that.

Being a business owner, I have small disputes with customers ocassionally. I hope None of them goes online to discuss them like this. I guess I should start checking.

Rinker said that the warranty was only for a year and would not help me. Doesn’t seem that a manufacturers defect like this would be limited to one year. I had very good luck with my SeaRays but I thought for the money the Rinker would be a good boat. The boat has been well maintained, covered at all times and in a covered stall at Walden Marina. Oh well, I guess I settled.

That is very unfortunate. I never heard of a dash board falling off a boat! Unusual. What did Rinker say caused it and how did they not help you? What terrible customer service. Why did you by a Rinker Stinker when you had such good luck with Sea Rays? May rethink that brand….

Thanks for the comment. My boat is in a covered stall at Walden Marina and has been since it was first delivered. Perhaps it just wasn’t made for Houston lakes.
