Time for America’s Third Political Party???
By Dana Richardson at May 26, 2006 | 9:12 pm | 0 Comment
Today's issues have polarized American voters to a degree deep and wide enough where The Republican Party no longer needs to represent the interests of it's members or adhere to the Party' Conservative Philosophy to win. No matter how disappointed a Conservative voter may be with the politics of the current slate of elected officials, The Democratic Party has moved too
Enemies Within and How to View the Islamic Threat
By Dana Richardson at February 25, 2006 | 9:19 pm | 0 Comment
We are not yet at war with Islam, but extremists of Islam are soldiers in a religious war against us. This struggle has next to nothing to do with the Middle East. It's about a failing civilization's embrace of a furious god. Our politicians and media continue to offer sensitivity as a solution to dealing with their hatred of western culture and urge us to embrace their
Just Put Up the White Flag

No Patriot Act No Coercive interrogations Just Put Up the White Flag! Well...We can't do anything that offends the terrorists. No coercive actions even though it could save American lives. So bombs away thanks to Sen. McCain. The Patriot Act expires 12/31. The two things that have kept the homeland safe since 9/11, which I feel was a miracle! It wasn't because they
2006 the time to rollout the more innovation & cooperation
By Dana Richardson at December 14, 2005 | 9:30 pm | 0 Comment
As I spend the Christmas Season making my 2006 business plan for LakeConroe.com and my other online networks, it occurs to me that the biggest change coming next year will be the cooperation among ourselves and other online content providers around the county. For whatever reason, a new spirit of sharing information between us and our assumed competitors has begun to
Am I stupid or what? Where is my piece of the Gov pie?
By Dana Richardson at October 29, 2005 | 9:34 pm | 0 Comment
During the past two months, it seems every government agency in America has been moving around our region doling out money, contracts, grants, jobs, food, subsidies, etc. I began wondering how come I've never gotten any of these. I never asked, that's why! Even though there were times I could have used the help, the thought of government assistance never entered my mind.
Being Involved in Katrina Relief Changes My Life
By Dana Richardson at October 12, 2005 | 1:47 pm | 0 Comment
About 6 weeks have past since evacuations began for the City of New Orleans. My life changed drastically during this time. Suddenly, without warning, I became engaged in the effort to administrate and coordinate moving thousands of people from shelters to longer term housing. How this happened was not my decision. Only God could have steered me to the recovery effort; I
What would life be like if Rita was a direct hit?
By Dana Richardson at September 29, 2005 | 2:01 pm | 0 Comment
As we roll back into life around the lake, nothing about it seems normal. We are housing friends without electricity and hoarding gasoline to power a generator to keep our websites and networks online. Power blackouts hit our neighborhood several times a day. When the power returns, a blackout takes effect across the lake. Almost zero work is accomplished because I spend
How the Relief System works
By Dana Richardson at September 22, 2005 | 2:10 pm | 0 Comment
After a couple weeks engaged in the area relief effort, one universal truth has emerged. The Federal agencies throw money at any and every problem. FEMA is not interested in what has been donated for the cause, they don't even want to know about it. Instead, they buy everything right off the shelves with your tax dollars. Evacuees are given brand new furniture even though
Who are the Bad Guys?

As we work 16 hour days to assist victims from the Gulf Coast region, rarely do we get to watch the national or local news. Whenever we do, it becomes apparent to us who the "Baddest People" in America are. The media and politicians! I have never seen such a horrible display of political posturing over an event that was years in the making. Everyone knew this would
Ashamed to be a man in Montgomery County
By Dana Richardson at September 14, 2005 | 2:18 pm | 0 Comment
Yesterday, Phyllis and I attended the meeting of the Montgomery County Disaster Recovery Task Force meeting that included, officials from The United Way, Red Cross, FEMA, Habitat for Humanity, MC Hospital District, Area Hospitals, Churches, Law Enforcement and others. What we discovered was a group of extrordinary individuals completely focused and dedicated to the effort
Volunteering can be satisfying
By Dana Richardson at September 12, 2005 | 2:20 pm | 0 Comment
Its Monday morning and I haven't had more than 4 hours of sleep since Weds. Getting the "bearsinaction.com" website rolling took much more than I imagined. What a success it has been though! Launched (incomplete at the time) Friday, I awoke Saturday to find almost 15 new volunteers signing up directly from the new site. Today, we have about 25 new volunteers moving goods
Focus on the Postives created by Hurricane Katrina
By Dana Richardson at September 9, 2005 | 2:25 pm | 0 Comment
I haven't had much time to write anything the past several days because I was recruited to setup an information network for the evacuee relief efforts in our county. Seems the aid and relief agencies as well as churches etc were not communicating very well. Who has what where and where is it needed... The same issue our Gov agencies had! But let's look at the plus side of
Calming Down from Katrina
By Dana Richardson at September 6, 2005 | 2:28 pm | 0 Comment
Thank goodness, the immediate crisis in New Orleans is over. Maybe I can sleep tonight. Phyllis served meals to victims this morning and said the people were wonderful. She's a little upset she isn't needed again until Thursday. The folks were polite and friendly and none had any complaints. Thursday she may bring home a couple of children to spend the day and night with
Winner, Losers and What We Have Learned
By Dana Richardson at September 5, 2005 | 3:37 pm | 0 Comment
After the last stressful week, I feel many lessons have been learned from the Katrina crisis. Many people and organizations took charge and did responsible jobs and many did not. If nothing else, maybe we can all step back and realize that depending on the government agencies and beauracracy to solve a crisis is a path to failure. You and you alone need to make ready for
Lets put Homeland Security in the hand of the miltary
By Dana Richardson at September 4, 2005 | 3:40 pm | 0 Comment
Well, the Homeland Security Department we spent billions creating failed miserably in coordinating the relief effort. But proudly, the arms of the military cleaned up the mess and saved face for the big GOV. I suggest putting the Generals in charge of Homeland Security. Once again, the performance of our troops has made us proud and saved thousands of lives. I'm
When the Generals Take Over
By Dana Richardson at September 3, 2005 | 3:42 pm | 0 Comment
Thank you US Miltary! Finally we have our hero. The leadership lacking for these past few days finally showed up. What an operation...this is what should have been in action 24 hours ago. Nevertheless, for the first time, I think the people left behind in New Orleans will survive. At the same time, I wonder why a true leader was absent in so many places. Couldn't someone
Where’s the Miltary?
By Dana Richardson at September 2, 2005 | 3:45 pm | 0 Comment
Another night of terror for the people of New Orleans. I think the military needs to be brought in full force. This is pure anarchy evolving. Without military presence, control of the city is hopeless. Why hasn't George Bush sent them in? He has to be seeing the the same thing we are. Seems that Houston gets the only good PR on the organizational front. It was hard not
So Much for counting on the Feds
By Dana Richardson at September 1, 2005 | 3:47 pm | 0 Comment
Well, its 3 days since the levees broke in NO and still no Federal troops in site. Some entity has finally organized an evacuation of the Superdome tonight. They are bringing them to Houston! Yikes, what a responsibility being dropped on us! From what I see on TV, I can only ask, what will we do with these people? Very few seem capable of supporting themselves. Most have
