Water Skiing has always been one of the more popular activities for the younger crowd. With the multitude of "protected coves" on all sides of Lake Conroe, calm, smooth water surfaces can be found almost al times of the day. This is especially true of the un-bulkheaded shores of the Sam Houston National Forest on the north end of the lake...where the real pros can be found slaloming through their courses!

Wind Surfing and sailing are more active near the southern shores of Lake Conroe since the heavier winds prevail nearer the dam that contains the lake. The winds are usually heaviest in mid to late afternoon.

For the extreme water enthusiast, try Going to the Air behind your boat with Para-Sailing or Kite-Skiing. Not for the faint hearted, these activities require special equipment you can find at Parasail Workshop, Inc., but finding a hang gliding kite may be hard to do.

Several years ago, it was not uncommon to see skiers flying behind a boat. Today, the sport seems to have almost vanished. LakeConroe.com would love to hear from enthusiasts that fly the lake!
